Addition & Subtraction Number Bond Mats with 100 Chart
As you learn more in addition and subtraction, you start getting to add bigger and bigger numbers. You start out with single numbers that with work great with the basic number bond mat to explore.
After you get working on those bigger numbers a 100 chart is a great help when moving to two digit numbers. These mats are made to help with progress to bigger numbers.
This is another great addition to math printables on the site.
I made this to help me first grader so that she could see jumps and changes like adding one more or ten more. Every child needs something different while they are learning.
I’ve made two other addition and subtraction mats. One of them has just the number bonds that you use hands on items to make the numbers. The second mat has the number bonds and the equations with a number line.
This chart was made to have a number bond, math facts and 100 chart that work for addition and subtraction. It is similar to the multiplication & division one that I made.
I placed our mat in a sheet protectors so I could put it in a math help binder for my girls.

Some items that we use with this math are:
- sheet protectors
- dry erase marker
- 10 sided dice
- 10 Sided Double Dice
- small glass gems
My girls like using the 10 Sided Double Dice on math activities. This was an easy way to make a bigger two digit number. You roll the dice and the outsdie dice is in the 10s place and the inside is the ones place. We use the 10 sided dice
for the number we are adding to the two digit number.

The first step is to roll the dice and then place them on the number bond, or you could just write them in the circles as well.

The second step is to mark the number on the mat. We used little glass stones, but you could use erasers or just color it in. We always used the bigger number first on the mat. Then you counted on and placed the

The final step is filling in the math facts. They can do it any way that works for them.

This mat makes a great math center for kids or a homework help. It is also perfect for older kids to see how fast they can get their answers.
