Fun Hand-On Free Apple Tree Shape Sorting Printable
Fall is one time that I just love. We have done so many fun activities with it. I was looking to see where I don’t have many activities and shapes is one of them.
I wanted to add some fun shape activities that kids can use this fall. I’m starting with this free apple shape sorting printable. This shape sorting is a great addition to any shape center during the fall.

The apple tree shape sorting printable has four shapes sorting mats and several apples with the shapes for kids to sort. This is a great shape printable for kids in preschool (ages 3 to 4), preK (ages 4 to 5) and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6).
Tree Shape Sorting Mat Printable
The sorting mats work on four different shapes: circle, square, rectangle, and triangle. The mats have the shape words on them.
I recommend printing the pages on cardstock and laminating the pieces to make them last longer.
Apple With Shapes Printables
There are three color of apples and each color has two of each shape on it. You can use all the cards or just a few cards.

Below I will show you a few ways we have used the apple shape sorting activity.
Sorting One Shape Card to Each Tree
I give them a stack of cards and have them sort the cards to each of the trees. They all have different ideas on how to do this.
Sort Several Apples Shapes to Each Tree
I gave them several apples for older kids to sort the shapes. This is all about knowing who is doing the activity.
Make a Shape Matching Game
After you are done sorting you can turn the shape cards into a matching game. You can match by shape or by shape and color. It is fun to use things many different ways.
