Bear Themed Addition, & Subtraction Clip Cards
There are so many fun ways to work on addition and subtraction and I love finding new ways to do them.
I have always loved clip cards. They are fun for kids and great to use.
There are many different types of clip cards and these are fun because they add some basic math and have a number line for kids to help with their math.
Today I have some bear themed addition and subtraction clip cards that are great for those just starting addition.
We have included links to some of the products and resources we have used with this activity. If you purchase via the links we may earn a small commission.
I wanted this set of cards to be something simple and easy to use. These are great for those just starting out with addition and subtraction.
The cards each have the bears for the math. Plus there is a number line at the bottom to help out. You can see the addition cards have a plus between the bears and the subtraction cards have bears crossed off. The bears also match up with the bear counters colors and size. I recommend laminating
the cards if you plan to use them many time.

How to use the Bear Addition and Subtraction Clip Cards
The cards work in many different ways and I hope to show you some of the ways to use them.
These are made clip cards so you can do that. But you don’t have to just clip the answer. You can also use the clothespins on the number line. You can put the cards on the starting number and slide the clothespin up or down based on the card. Then clip the answer on the number line as well.

If you have laminated then you can use dry erase markers
on them. You can do the math on the number line and circle the answer. Now if you need extra help then pull out the bear counters
and use them along side the math!

I love being flexible on things. And clear glass gems are one of my favorite hands-on items to use. You can place them on the bears as a hands-on help. But you can use them on the number line. You can see the start number and use a second gem to slide up or down the line to the answer. Then use another to cover the answer.

If you need something else with cards then use them with the number bond mats. That allows you to build the equation and use the bears in the number bonds.

Something fun to do is the place the matching bear counters on the cards. You can use the bears all over the card. We used them as a place started on the number line and moved the bear up to the answer. They placed another bear on the answer. These cards are flexible to use with your child working on addition and subtraction.
