Color Gross Motor Dice Printable
We have been adding gross motor into our day. But it is tedious to do the same thing over and over. So I created this color gross motor dice printable to change things up.
The color gross motor dice printable allows me to mix up different gross motor movements by changing what is on each sheet. It is loads of fun, plus super easy to set up and do! Color Dice
There is a color dice you can use with it. There is one for cube inserts and a dice version you can cut out and make. We really like the inserts.

What you need for the Color Gross Motor Dice

The Color Themed Dice
The dice are super easy to make. We use the number dice with these activities. I printed off the higher numbers because we wanted more repetition of the activities.

The dice inserts are super simple and easy to use. They slide right in and out of the dice super easy.

I also like the cube dice because they last longer but if you don’t have a cube dice you can use the folding dice as well.

The Color Themed Gross Motor Movements
We pick out a color sheet that we want to use. This could be any of the 4 sheets in the set. We picked the first one. I always review the gross motor movements before we do the activity. We don’t want any wrong movements or getting hurt.

These are all basic gross motor movements. They should be ones that kids know or have had something to do with.
Jumping Jacks: You jump from legs and arms together making a straight line out to make an “x” with arms and legs.
Sit-Ups: You can knees bend and laying with back flat on the ground. You then roll your upper body towards your bent knees.
Push-Ups: You are on your toes and hands with your body in a straight line. You lower your body by bending your arms at the elbows and the push with your arms back up to straight arms.
Squats: You start standing up straight. Then you pretend to sit in a chair behind you. You want to make sure the toes don’t go over the knees. And then you stand up again.
Side Lunges: You start with your feet out wide. You then bend one knee and lean towards the knee. You want to make sure your knee does not move past the toes when you bend the knee. you alternate each side.
Trunk Twists: You keep the lower body still with legs slightly apart and twist at the waist. You can do this arms in or arms out.
Run in Place: You run in place or if you have a little room maybe in a circle.
March in Place: You have kids march in place by having them raise their knees up to their hip level. This could also be done in a small circle if you have room.
Toe touches: This is bending forward as much as they can to touch their toes.

One reason that we love the cube dice is that they are loads of fun to throw in the air!

A few other ways to use these color gross motor printables
Now because this is color base you can use any red, orange, yellow, green, blue or purple items for the color. We put the bear counters in a bag and I had them pull out a color bear to pick the movement would do. It allows me also to pick out how times we do a movement.

If you want you can add some math to this. You can use flashcards to figure out how many times they will do a repetition. You can do addition, subtraction, and division. They all work great for this. You just roll the dice and then do the math on the next flashcards to see how many of the movement you do.
