Every now and then we do crafts that change things up. I always love the ideas that my girls come up with. Their suggestion was that we use washi tape for making snowflakes.

This is a simple way to make snowflakes and work on fine motor at the same time. And these is a simple craft that different ages could do together.

The Washi Tape Snowflakes Craft is a simple craft made with washi tape and it is great for building fine motor skills and is just fun. Kids get to create their own snowflakes using the tape.
One of my favorite reasons I have loved doing the washi tape crafts is that there is very little prep needed. We just used tape and paper.

How we made the Washi Tape Snowflakes Craft

Before we started our craft we reviewed that snowflakes have six sides. We look at pictures of snowflakes on google. Then we decide what we wanted to do. We also talked about how no way we made them would be wrong. Every snowflake is unique.

The girls and I decided how many we wanted to put on a paper. Then we picked out a starting tape we were going to use. We would put one tape down and the use it to measure out next two placements.

Once we had the basic shape started we had fun from there making our own snowflakes. There was no right or wrong way to do this craft. Everyone could do their own things and it would be fun. It is fun to have open ended crafts that you can decide when it is done.

We soon had many different snowflakes covering out papers. And even tiny snowflakes that we could not see added by my youngest to hers. This is a fun project that kids can be creative with.
