Fall Leaf Themed Wreath

I have love changing up the seasons at our house. We love the different decorations that you can make. We have been in full fall decoration time. We love leaves and watching the seasons change.

I love that all leaves and different and change in so many ways. Today I have a fall leaf theme wreath. It is a fun and creative way for kids to have fun!

We read the book Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf. We love this book and how fun it is for kids. This is one of our favorite fall books. We read it every year. And some years many different days.

What you will need for this project:

• paper plate with center cut out
• dot marker
• oil pastels
• cardstock
• maple leaf punch 1 1/2 inch
• maple leave punch 1 inch
• oak leaf punch 1 inch
• glitter cardstock
• glue

How to make this Craft

We start out by using a brown dot marker on the paper plate. You could always use brown paint for this. After we finish we set it aside. One reason we use the dot makers is that they dry really fast.

Then we start in on making our leaves. We have three different punches that we are used. We start by coloring the cardstock.

Then using the punch to punch out different types of leaves. It is loads of fun to see how different all the leaves turn out.

The leaves don’t have to be perfect. Because no leaf is the same as another leaf.

Then we punched some glitter cardstock to make some additional leaves for our wreaths. I love that the punch motion of the punches is a great deep pressure activity that I can sneak into our crafts.

Last we glued out leaves onto the dry paper plate. Before we glue I suggest that they place their leaves around the plate to make sure they have all they want. Then we glue them on.
