How We Made The Fall Tree Scrape Painting
You can see the steps below that we used to make the Fall Tree Scrape painting.
Step 1: Paint the Trunk of the Tree
You are going to start by painting the trunk of the tree. This can be any shape that you want to make it. And kids love make the trees their own style.

Step 2: Paint Branches in the Tree
Next you will add a more branches on the tree trunk. It can be big and a few smaller ones around the top of the tree. This can very how you want to do them.
And if kids skip this step that is okay. Figure out the age of the kids doing the painting and see if they can do the step or not.

Step 3: Paint On Paper Plate Or Tray
You put the paints on the paper plate. You can do one color on each plate. We did a red plate, a orange plate, and and a yellow plate. It was a fun to see the fall colors and the cookie cutters.

Step 4: Place The Cookie Cutter In The Paint
You are going to place the leaf cookie cutter in the paint. You want to spread that paint around the edges of the leaf cookie cutter.

Step 5: Place the Leaf on the Paper & Slide the Cookie Cutter on the Paper
You are going to place the cookie cutter on the paper. It is okay if the cookie cutter moves because we are going to slide the cookie cutter around.

You are now going to slide the cookie cutter on the paper. You can see we have the original stamp of the cookie cutter and paint spread form the leave shape. It is a fun way to paint with cookie cutters.

Step 6: Keep Scrap Painting Leaves on Tree On The Paper
You are going to repeat step four and five. You are going to keep stamping and scraping paint with the cookie cutters on the fall tree.
You can see we did several more red color leaves on the tree.

You are also going to add more colors. We used red, yellow, and orange paint for the the colors. You can see how much fun it looks. the leaves and paint can overlap on the paper. That is okay.
And if kids don’t want to make the paint overlap then that is okay. Remember this is their fall tree painting and it should look different.

And remember this craft goes great with a book as well!
