Farm Sensory Bin with Farm Animals
A Farm Sensory Bin is a fun way to explore farm animals in hands-on learning. I love how you can integrate so many different sensory types in just a simple bin. You can explore the smooth and rough in this bin.
It is a simple sensory bin to put together for a farm animal theme and works great with a general farm theme. And it is super simple to put together.

The Farm Sensory Bin is a great addition to the farm activities and sensory bins on the site.
What is a sensory bin?
A sensory bin is typically a plastic tub or container filled with carefully selected materials and objects to stimulate the senses of children in preschool.
Sensory bins might have rice, water beads, corn, beans, or other types filled with small items.
Farm Sensory Bin
The farm sensory bin is made with a rice filler and then uses different types of farm animals in the rice with kids. A simple farm sensory bint that takes almost no time to put together.
Book to Read With the Farm Sensory Bin
Before starting the sensory bin, we read the book Big Red Barn. Farm is an easy sensory bin to set up and use. This sensory bin works really well with the Free Farm Pack. As with all bins I try and leave them out so they can be played with for a week or more.

Ways to Use the Farm Sensory Bin
Sensory bins are fun for kids to play in. And kids of different ages can use sensory bin. And this farm one is great for preschool, prek and kindergarten.
Explore the Farm Animals in the Sensory Bin
I let her explore the the animals in the bin. She loved looking at all the animals. This is a great sensory play in a sensory bin that kids love to do.

Match the Farm Animals
She matched up the Safari Ltd Farm Toob to the Melissa & Doug Farm Wooden Chunky Puzzle. This is a great way to see similar things that look slightly different.

Make the Farm Animal Sounds
She make the animals sounds while playing. She had fun making the animals eat the rice and playing with all the pieces. And all this type of play in sensory bins is important.

Count the Farm Animals
Another activity that we did with this was some hands on counting. She took the animals and puzzle pieces from the bin to use on the Farm Counting Mat.

This was a fun and messy activity that she just loved.
