What you need for the Finger Painted Planet Earth Painting

- washable paints: blue, green, and white
- paint tray – (we used ice cube tray)
- scissors
- glue
- q-tip

How we made the Finger Painted Planet Earth
here are all the steps we used to make the finger painted Earth!
Step 1: Draw the Earth on the white Paper
Each of us looked at a map of the Earth and drew on the contents for us to paint. We use the Children’s Atlas of the World for this.

If you want to skip the drawing part of the Earth you can find an Earth template in the Earth fine motor mats.
Step 2: Put Paint in Ice Cube Trays
Then we filled in the paint into the ice cube trays. This made it easy to keep the colors together.

Step 3: Paint the Earth
We all finger painted our worlds. I love projects like this because everyone has their own ideas and that is okay. And you see how creative they can be painting their own Earth.

Step 4: Paint the Stars in the Sky
We set our planets aside to dry and got the black glitter cardstock to paint stars on it. We used q-tip and white paint and dotted around the paper.
We left the center of the paper blank because the Earth will cover it.

Step 5: Cut Out the Earth & Glue on Black Paper
Once our earth and stars were dry we cut out the earth and glued it onto the black cardstock.
If your Earth starts to roll up have kids put something to help it keep flat.
