What is a sight word?
Sight words are words you learn to memorize to help with reading and writing.
You learn sight words by knowing the word at a glance. This means you learn the words without learning to sound it out. A lot of sight words have tricky ways or sound them out or are the most common words you have in beginning reading.
A lot of common sight words are and, the, said, see, can.
The flower sight word matching puzzles are going to have kids match the same word. It is a fun way to work on sight words. There are twelve puzzles on one page.

Ways to Use the Flower Sight Word Matching Puzzles Printable
I’m going to show you a few ways that we have used the sight word matching puzzles. There are so many fun ways to use the cards.
Matching the Sight Word Puzzles
You can make a fun sight word matching game out of it. You have to top on one side and the bottom on another side. You can also just give them a stack of the cards mixed and have them match the sight words.
Matching the Sight Word Puzzles on Rings
You could also put the cards on rings. You have the top cards on one ring and the bottom cards on the second ring. Then they flip through the ring until they match the sight words.
Sight Word Puzzles Sensory Bin
You can also make this a sensory activity by putting the sight words in a sensory bin.
Making the Sensory Bin
We used a bin, rice, and acrylic flowers for the sensory bin fillers. Then we placed all the sight word cards in the bin. We had the flower part sticking up.
Match Cards from the Sensory Bin
Then you go through the sensory bin finding and matching the cards. This is a great way to see if they can recognize the words when the bottom sight word is upside down in the sensory bin.
Writing the Sight Word Puzzles
After you match the puzzle you can have them write the sight word. You can use the fun flower writing paper. It is a great way to reinforce the way the sight word is spelled.
Using Sight Word Finds with Puzzles
