Playdough mats are a great way for kids to build fine motor skills while teaching skills like ABCs, numbers, and shapes.

Preparing the Firework Color Word Playdough Mats
You can print the firework color word playdough mat on cardstock and laminate the page. This works great repeated use in learning centers.
If you are going to use these firework color word playdough mats a few times then you can print it on white copy paper and then put the page in a sheet protector. If you do this option you can put all the pages in sheet protectors and store them in a binder and have kids flip through the pages and do al the color words.
Using Playdough on the Firework Color Playdough Mats
After you have the mats prepared you can use playdough to make the color words. A great idea is to match the playdough color to the color words. This gives another color when using the mats.
You can see we use blue playdough to make the color word blue. And that our page is in a sheet protector for our learning center.
Tracing the Color Words on the Firework Color Playdough Mats
You can also use the firework playdough mats to trace the color words. You can see we traced the letters inside the bubble letters of the color word. We used a dry erase marker for the tracing.
A simple handwriting activity you can do along with making the color words in playdough.
