A matching puzzle is where you have items on the mat that match something on the puzzle piece. These can vary in the different ways that you can use them.

Preparing the Frog Price Number Counting Puzzle Printables
You are going to see a few ways that we prepare the number puzzle and puzzle mat.
Laminate the Puzzle Pieces & Puzzle Mat
You can see that we laminate the puzzle and the puzzle mat. This is a great way to reuse the puzzle and also makes it last longer.
We laminate the puzzle first and then cut it out. The puzzle mat can just be laminate at left as is.
Cut Up the Puzzle Pieces
We cut up the puzzle pieces. You can cut the puzzle before laminate or laminate and then cut. We really like laminating and then cutting. It will depend on the laminator that you have.

Prepare the Puzzle Mat
Now since we have laminated the puzzle, we use putty on the puzzle mat. We put putting somewhere on each of the puzzle pieces. When it works out we try to put it in the same corner. This golden balls are a little harder with but we managed to get putty on each square somewhere.
We do the putty so that once a puzzle piece is placed that is sticks on to the mat. You can see that we have picked up the puzzle and the piece is staying there.
And you can reuse the putty much easier than you can with velcro.

Set up the Frog Prince Number Puzzle Center
You can see a simple set up below. You have the puzzle mat prepared and the puzzle pieces on the side. This is easy to use up for kids.
Counting the Golden Balls
You can work on counting the golden balls. A fun way to add a hands-on activity is to use unifix cubes. Then ave them use the cubes to match the number on the puzzle piece.
Then they can search for the matching space on the puzzle mat. You can see that we have two unifix cubes the number 2 piece and where the number two piece goes on the puzzle.
Build the Puzzle Frog Prince Puzzle
You can also just let kids build the puzzle if they don’t need a hands-on part to the activity. You can see that we have started building the puzzle. And kids will be doing this in a mixed order.
You can see the completed puzzle below. It is simple and easy for kids to do. After you are done you can ask kids to tell you the numbers they see on the puzzle.
