Free Penguin ABC Tracing Strips – All 26 Letters of the Alphabet
Penguins are a great winter and summer theme. You can do use penguins for a polar theme or a zoo theme. And these penguin letter tracing strips are great for kids working on handwriting.
You have all 26 letters of the alphabet. They have examples of how to trace the letters and then several of the uppercase and lowercase letters to trace.
These are great for handwriting centers and a fun change from worksheets for letters. These are great for kids in prek and kindergarten .

Penguin ABC Tracing Strip Printables
These are great for later PreK and Kindergarten. You can use just the letters you are looking for or the whole set. They are great for penguin letter learning center.
It is recommended that you print the letter tracing strips on cardstock and laminating them.
You can see an example of the tracing strips below. You can see the uppercase and lowercase letters on the strip with the example and the ones to trace with the penguin.
Things to use with the Penguin ABC Tracing Strips Printable

Ways to Use the Penguin ABC Tracing Strips Printable
You will see how we use the alphabet tracing strips and how we prepare them as well.
Laminating the Penguin ABC Tracing Strips
You are going to want to print on cardstock and laminate the penguin abc tracing strips. This helps the tracing strips stay in great shape and helps them get used over and over.
A lot of people like to print and cut out the letter tracing strips and then laminate. But you can also laminate and then cut out the tracing strips. You can see below that we have laminated the tracing strips and will cut them out after.
Do what works best for your laminator.
Storing the Penguin ABC Tracing Strips
A great storage idea for the penguin ABC tracing strips is to store them on a ring. After they are on a ring you can put them in binders that go penguin theme.
We used a 1 inch ring to store the letter tracing strips.
Setting up a Penguin ABC Letter Tracing Centers
You can see a simple way to set up the letter tracing strips. You can going to have some or all of the alphabet tracing strips on a ring. Then you can going to give kids a dry erase marker to use to trace the letters.
Some letter tracing center ideas are:
– Letters in their name
– Sight words they are working on
– CVC words they are learning
– Vocab words
– Letter of the Day
– Spell polar animal names
You want this to be a fun change from basic handwriting activities.
Tracing the Letters
You are going to have kids trace the letters. You can do one letter a day and do all 26 letters in a month. You might have a few days that do two letters.
You can have kids also trace the example on the letter tracing strips as well. This helps with seeing how to trace the letter and then tracing the exmaple and then tracing the rest of the letters of the tracing strips.
Cleaning Off Dry Erase Marker with Q-Tip
A fun way to clean off the dry erase marker is with a q-tip or cotton swab. It gives them extra fine motor practice holding the q-tip while they wipe off the letters they trace.
You are going to have them trace the lines with the q-tip to get the marker off. This works best with a black dry erase marker.
Now if you have someone who does not trace the lines but still uses the q-tip to wipe if off. Then that is okay. They are still giving fine motor work holding the cotton swab.
