The planet template page is great for using as a coloring page. You can see the planet below and see that it has been colored. And let kids be creative when they are coloring. Let them pick the colors they will use and have fun.
They can use crayons like we did or markers as well.
Torn Paper Planet Craft
And this planet also makes a great template for a torn paper craft. You can use different colors of construction paper to make the planet. You can see how much fun this is for kids.
And it is fun to see how they turned out and how different they can look.

Setting Up A Planet Tracing Center
The planet make a great tracing page for kids. You can give them a pencil and the paper and let them trace the planet. You can see we have a pencil and a pencil grip. This pencil grip helps kids hold the pencil better. And not all kids will need the pencil grip.
Tracing the Planet with Markers
You can also just trace the planet with markers or crayons. It is a fun way to make the planet stand out on the page. You can trace and then color or just trace the planet.
You can do which works best for the kids you are teaching.
Reuse the Planet Tracing Page
You can reuse the planet tracing. You could laminate the page to use it is center a lot. And if you are only going to use it a few times then put the page in a sheet protector.
After you have it set up then trace the page with dry erase markers. And the colored dry erase markers are fun to trace for the planet.

Dot Marker the Planet
You can have LOADS of fun using dot markers on the planet. You can use bright colors or a mix of colors. We use the shimmer dot markers with yellow and green and they shine a little when you are done.
You could use regular dot markers as well.
Use Hands-on Items with the Dot Marker Planet
The dot marker page can also be a hands-on items as well. We love using the glass gems on the circles. we used two colors one for the planet and one for the ring.
It is great for fine motor to place each of the glass gems on the circles. And it is also a great way to use the dot marker before you use dot markers on them.

You will see a few ways we have used the cotton swab page.
Using Cotton Swabs on the Planet
These planets has all those little circles for kids to use the q-tips with paint to paint the planet and ring. You can let them have fun doing this. You can use a mix of paints or a few paints. We used three color to paint the planet with cotton swabs.
We put paint in a paint tray and then got the cotton swabs out and painted away. And it is fun to dot all the circles on the planet.
Using Mini Dot Makers on the Planet
Now we love the q-tip for painting but we really love dot markers. And there are mini dot markers that work great on the q-tip planet page. They are just the size of the circles and also work on fine motor skills to match the circle and the dot marker.
And it is fun to see how the planet turns out.
