Using Subtraction Puzzles with the Subtraction Number Bond Mat
You could also use the subtraction number bond mat to help with matching the puzzles. You can place the puzzles on the mat and use the center circle as the answer.
You can solve one puzzle and write the answer in the circle. Then find the other puzzle that has the same answer. You can use the number line to help with solving the equations.
Matching the Subtraction Puzzles on Rings
You can also put the subtraction puzzle on rings. This allows you to flip through the puzzle pieces and find the correct answer for each puzzle. And it keeps the puzzle together for storing them later.
Using Unifix Cubes to Get the Answers
You can also use small items to answer the equations. You can use unifix cubes. You can give them enough to do both equations.
Then you can see how the answer at the end has the same height of unifix cubes. A fun hands-on approve to using the puzzles.
