This watermelon is also great for a craft template. You can see below that we use torn construction paper and made a torn paper watermelon. It is great for fine motor for tearing the paper and then gluing on the paper.
Watermelon Playdough Mat
If you have a mix of colors you can use the watermelon template as a playdough mat. You can use green, red and black on the page and make a watermelon. Another way to make this a different fine motor activity for kids.

You can set up fine motor tracing centers. You give kids the watermelon tracing worksheet and a pencil. You can also give them a pencil grip if they need help.
Kids then trace all the lines with pencil and then they can color the watermelon.

Another great ideas is to reuse the watermelon tracing page. You can put the page in a sheet protector as seen below or laminate the page.
Then give them dry erase markers to trace the lines of the watermelon. Kids can even trace the watermelon seeds.

If you don’t have dot markers, then use cotton balls on clothespins and washable paints!
Hands-On Items with the Dot Marker Watermelon
Another great way to use the watermelon dot marker printable is as a hands-on mat. You can see we used red glass gems, green glass gems and black glass gems, then placed them on the circles on the watermelon.
This makes a great fine motor activity you can do over and over before using the dot marker page.
