Gingerbread Packs for Preschool & Tot and PreK & Kindergarten

I know that one of our favorite stores has always been the Gingerbread Man. We are always read new books with variations of the story. It is a fun one to read.

And now I have a full pack just for a Gingerbread Man theme!

I love the themed packs because they give you loads of activities all with one theme. You can work on counting, ABCs, numbers, shapes and so much more while using the gingerbread man activities. It can make learning so much fun.

We have several books we love for this story like the classic The Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone or a favorite twist with the Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett.

Each of the stories is fun to read and retell. There are so many variations you can get now. They are all loads of fun. I love reading each one of them.

I had loads of fun putting lots of gingerbread man themes into these packs. Each of the packs is a fun way to retell the story and having fun learning with a mix of hands-on and no-prep activities.

Items we use the most with the Gingerbread Man Packs

There are just a few of the items we used to prepare and used with these packs. You don’t have to use them all but it is helpful to know the items you might want to use.

How to use the Gingerbread Man Packs for PreK & Kindergarten

There are so many pages and activities in the packs but I want to highlight a few of them for you.

There are several prewriting pages in the pack. You have simple straight lines to lines that are mixed up. Plus you have lines you can trace inside a gingerbread man cutout.

The set has a hands-on pattern set and a no-prep pattern set. You can work on AB or ABC patterns. You can see an example of the hands-on pattern making below.

This pack has several letter “g” activities. One of them is a really fun dot the letter and find the letter. These are fun to use and come in an uppercase or lowercase option. We used dot marker on these pages. You could also use bingo daubers or just color them with crayons.

Another letter G printable is a playdough mat with tracing. The mats come in three options uppercase only, lowercase only and uppercase and lowercase together. We put our mat in a sheet protector. Then we used playdough on the letters and dry erase markers on the tracing and writing.

There are several sets of gingerbread man words for kids to learn with. You have 3 part cards, pocket chart cards, word tracing strips, beginning sound tracing strips, writing word strips, reading pages and a matching easy reader book with the beginning sounds. These all together are great to work on vocabulary from the story.

The set also includes several more ABC themed activities to go with the Gingerbread man story. There are dot maker pages with tracing, single-page color the trace, beginning sound clip cards, and matching 2 piece puzzles. All of these help you work on letters and learn more. It has the following letters: G, W, M, O, C, H, P, S, F. You can see an example of the puzzles and clip cards below.

My Gingerbread Man is another easy reader book set in the pack is the My Gingerbread Man. It is all the ways you decorated your gingerbread man with jobs. There are several materials that help with this book similar to the letter book above. It has 3 part cards, tracing strips, reading word page, reading sentence page, and easy reader book with single and teacher print.

A third easy reader book is about winter activities the gingerbread man is doing. This has the same mix of 3 part cards, tracing strips, reading word page, reading sentence page, and easy reader book with single and teacher print. This allows you to be flexible in how you use the books.

The set has a fun no-prep shape tracing activity. You trace the shape cut out of the dough and then trace the shape word. It is a fun and easy page to use.

There is also a set of matching two piece puzzles for the shapes. You have the shape on the dough and a matching item with that shape. I recommend printing the puzzles on cardstock. This helps them last longer.

There are several number activities. We have always loved the puzzles. This is a great way to work on numbers and counting up. You will find 4 piece puzzles and 10 piece puzzles in the set. Thes are another hands-on page that I recommend printing on cardstock. It allows you to use the puzzles several times if you need to.

There are several fun number pages in the set. But I love the number easy reader book. This is a great way to see numbers go up. Plus after you read the book you can do the matching puzzles or the no-prep page you see below. These are fun and easy to use together.

There are several no-prep subtraction pages in the set plus this fun subtraction puzzle matching activity. It has all the ways to subtraction from 10. It is a great way to work on subtraction and see the answers in the gumdrops.

The set has some hands-on matching for addition and some no-prep pages. One of my favorite no-prep is the roll and add. You roll two 6 diced dice and then add them together and color the correct gumdrop. We used two 6 diced dice but you could also use the 6 sided double dice.

There are a few CVC pages in the set. You can have some fun with rhyming words and color the gumdrop by word family endings.

How to use the Gingerbread Man Packs for Preschool & Tot

Like the pack above I’m going to highlight a few of the pages from the set. The set is for those in Tot to Preschool ages. They have some simple and fun activities.

One of the first pages in the set is the prewriting pages. There are two types of lines. A thick line and a thinner dotted line. This allows you to use what works best for your kids. Plus I love to make these simple pages into playdough mats sometimes.

You are going to find two playdough mats. You have the options of uppercase or lowercase letters. This allows you to focus on what your child’s needs are. You can see we put our mat in a sheet protector and used playdough on the letters.

You are also going to find a letter G sorting activity in the set. This is a great way to work on uppercase and lowercase letters.

There is a mix of hands-on and no-prep pages that have matching activities. One of them is big and small. You have clip cards that work great for the words. You can also find a sorting mat and no-prep page with this activity. I recommend printing on cardstock and using clothespins for the clip cards.

You also have the which one is different. This comes as a no-prep or hands-on activity. You can pick which works best for your kids. I love having the options to use.

The set has two types of puzzles. There are 9 piece puzzles and 2 piece puzzles. These allow you to work on the level you need. Each of the puzzles is easy to use. The 9 piece comes with a building mat to help kids. The 2 piece puzzles work great any way you want to use them. You can see an example of the 2 piece puzzles below.

There are two easy reader books in the set color the gingerbread man and the gingerbread man in shapes. These are both simple and easy to work on shapes and colors. You can see the color book below.

The set has some trace and color for numbers and ABCs. They have a big number or letter to color and matching pictures. These are simple and easy to use. The numbers have 1 to 10 and the ABCs have letters G, W, M, O, C, H, P, S, F. The letters come in uppercase or lowercase. You can see an example of the number page below.

You are also going to find dot marker letters and numbers. They work on the same letters and numbers as above. It is a great way to work on different skills in a fun theme. You can see an example of the ABC dot maker page below.
