Hands on Learning: Color Matching Butterflies
We have been working on colors with my youngest. It is fun to change up how we do it. The butterflies made a perfect chance for us to do some fun hands on learning with something different.
It also goes great with our butterfly theme we have been doing. We love doing butterflies during the spring. It is one of the first activities we do.
I laminated the butterflies to make them easier to use for various activities. This also makes it harder for little hands to break them.
What you need for this activity: Martha Stewart Crafts Large Punch, Monarch Butterfly and construction paper
.

I did a simple set up I used the same color construction sheets that I punched out the butterflies to use as the matching. This was really easy to do. There are 10 butterflies in each of the 6 colors.

My youngest had lots of fun matching the butterflies. She would fly them out of the butterflies to their colors. She would also say the colors and count the butterflies as she added more of them to the papers.

This is simple an easy to set up. We have had so much fun using the butterflies! These that we had were left over from our Color Butterfly Collage! It was using something we already had to make more fun activities.
