Hands-On Free St Patrick’s Day Counting Mats: 1 to 10
Every season it is fun to have some things that are consistent and fun. That is one reason that I have loved these counting mats. They have skills that kids are learning plus they are fun. And you can change up with season or themes.
Today we have a free St. Patrick’s Day counting mats.
Learning with playdough numbers, ten frames and a building area is loads of fun for kids. These mats make great hands-on activities.

What is a Counting Mat?
Counting mats are hands-on activities for practicing counting. They work on the skill of one-to-one correspondence. And helps with number recognition.
St Patrick’s Day Counting Mats Printables
The counting mats are perfect for kids working on their numbers 1 to 10. They are straightforward and easy to set up and make a great math center for preschool and kindergarten. Plus each one has a ten frame which is a great way for kids to work on the start of math. They also work great for learning ten frames in kindergarten and review for First Grade.
Each of the counting mats has the number written out, a number for playdough, ten frames and rainbow and pot of gold for the background. You can see how I set up each of the mats.
I used some playdough, green glass gems
and gold rocks
on the counting mats. I love putting them hands-on when I can. There are two different countings in the printables that you can use as well.

Ways to use the St Patrick’s Day Playdough Mats
I often laminate the pages if we are going to use them often. But if I’m out of laminating sheets or only using one time, I’ll use a sheet protector on the pages. I might also used the sheet protectors to store them in a 1 inch binder. I just put all the pages in the sheet protectors back to back.
