Hanukkah Ten Frame Cards

We have always love dreidels as part of Hanukkah. And I thought they would make a great theme for Hanukkah with a ten frame set. You can have fun spinning and counting with dreidels!

What is a ten frame card?

They are cards that help kids visualize numbers and decompose numbers. You can see the numbers on the cards and matching pictures or cards without pictures to help them count up to that number.

This is called subitizing. You see the card and figure out how many are on the card.

These also work great to work in to adding to the number on the card and working on math skills to adding up to ten.

There are two types of ten frame cards. There is a version with the dreidels filled in and the second is blank for kids to fill in.

These are just a few of the items we used with these ten frame cards. You can always use what you have on hands-on change it up to make it fun.

Ways to use the Hanukkah Ten Frame Cards

One of my favorite ways to use the ten frame cards at the start is to cover the images with glass gems. This works on one to one correspondence. They match one glass gem to the pictures.

I also love that you can use any item on these. And we have had a blast with these dreidels on the cards.

You can also use unfix cubes on the cards. I love using them on the blank ten frame cards.

You can also work on doing math with the cards. You can give them two colors of dreidels and show ways to add to the number.
