How we made the Fall Leaves Watercolor Painting
You can see the steps below that we used to make the leaf watercolor painting.
Step 1: Place the Leaf Cookie Cutter on the Watercolor Paper
You are going to take a leaf cookie cutter you want to start with. You are going to place the cookie cutter on the paper. You can place it anywhere on the paper.

Step 2: Hold the Leaf Cookie Cutter and Paint Inside
You are going hold the cookie cutter on the top or the sides. It may depend on the cookie cutter you pick. You can see we are holding on the side of this one.
Then while holding the cookie cutter still we are painting inside the cookie cutter. You want to make sure to get the watercolor on the brush into all the different parts of the cookie cutter.

Step 3: Look the the Leaf on the Paper
After you finish painting the leaf, you pick up the cookie cutter and look at it. You can see that it is in the shape of the cookie cutter and might have some areas that are not all filled in. But it is a fun fall leaf.

Step 4: Keep Painting Leaves
After you finish one leave you can pick a new leaf cookie cutter or use the same leaf again. You are going to add more leaves and colors to the paper.

While kids are painting it is okay if they only paint one leaf and color. Let them pick the leaf shapes and colors they want to do. And you can have leaves overlap each other. And it is fun to see the leaves after they are painted.
