Free Mini Black History Month Pack: Preschool, Prek and Kindergarten

History has always been one of those things that I have loved to have activities for. I know that what we teach can vary. One pack I have always wanted to make but it seems that the day and time of year got by me.

So made this fun pack for Black History Month. The pack has a few activities you can use for Black History Month.

You will find a mix of preschool, prek and kindergarten activities in the pack. There are a few writing activities that would also work for first grade.

Black History Month Pack Printables

The mini Black History pack has over 30 pages of printable activities. A lot of these activities are around writing about the people in the pack. We can learn so much by just doing research and learning about the people.

You have the following historical people in the pack: Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Bessie Coleman, Lyda D Newman, and Harriet Tubman

This mini pack is great for preschool (ages 3 to 4), prek (ages 4 to 5), and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6). You have a mix of hand-on and no-prep worksheets.

I’m going to show you a few of the pages from the Black History Pack.

Black History Vocab Cards Printables

I have 6 people in the pack: Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Bessie Coleman, Lyda D Newman, and Harriet Tubman. There are 3 part cards to help you learn their names.

All of these black history people will be in the pack of a lot of the activities.

Black History 3 Part Cards Printables

The Black History 3 part cards match up to the black history vocab cards. These are great for learning the names of each person. You can match the picture and the word to the vocab card.

Black History Prek Printables

Then I have three simple printables for What is Different, What Comes Next, and a prewriting page. These are some basic preschool pages to use with kids for learning about Black History that I have put in a lot of the packs.

And each works on skills that those age groups need.

Black History Pattern Cards Printable

Next, you will find some pattern cards. These are made to be used to make ABC pattern cards. You can start a pattern and kids can finish them. You can mix up the order and how many in the patterns.

You can do simple patterns that are AB for kids in prek and work on more complex patterns that are ABC for kids in kindergarten.

Black History Matching Cards Printable

The black history pack has matching cards. You can print off the page and match the cards to the correct picture or cut them apart and use them as a matching game to find both cards. It is a great way to work on matching the same picture.

The black history matching activity works great for kids in preschool and prek.

Black History Size Sorting Printable

The pack has a size sorting set with small medium and large sizes. You have a sorting mat and three picture sizes of Obama to sort to the mat. This size activity work great for kids in preschool and prek.

Black History Beginning Sound Coloring Printable

You have 6 coloring pages. They have the beginning sound for each person’s last name. You have uppercase and lowercase letters to color and then a sentence to trace that starts with that letter.

You will see the following sentences:
O is for Barach Obama.
N is for Lydia Newman.
K is for Martin Luthor King.
P is for Rosa Parks.
T is for Harriet Tubman.
C is for Bessie Coleman.

The beginning sound coloring pages for the black history pages are great for kids in preschool and prek. It might also work as a review of letters for kids in kindergarten.

Black History 4 Piece Puzzles Printable

Each person in the pack has a 4 piece puzzle that for kids to build. You can have them match the correct puzzle pieces. Or you could print them off and have kids cut the puzzles out and paste them on paper. The four piece puzzle are great for kids in preschool, prek, and kindergarten

Black History 10 Piece Puzzles Printable

You have a ten piece puzzle of Barach Obama for kids to make. It has numbers from 1 to 10. This is a great puzzle for putting numbers in order. It works great for kids in prek and kindergarten

Black History Describe the Person Printable

Last I wanted to show you one of the writing pages. The page has four bubbles that can be used for writing information about the person.

These also work great for writing facts that you could use to write about them. This is a great kindergarten and first grade black history activity.

Black History Writing Printable

The pack includes a writing page for each person in the pack. You can write sentences for each person. You could use the writing page after you write facts about the person.

You can do simple sentences for kids in kindergarten and more complex writing for kids in first grade.
