Ten Frames are an excellent way to work on counting and math at the same time. They are used a lot in Preschool, Kindergarten, and First Grade. By using the ten frames, kids have a different way of learning to count.
I recommend laminating the cards to help them last longer.
There are two types of ten frame cards. It allows for different levels of learning. You can use them to start to learn or review their numbers.
The first card just has the number and the ten frame is blank. This is great for older kids to use.

The second card has the number and the ten frame filled out. This is great for the beginner.

to cover the party blowers.

Use Unifix Cubes with the New Years Ten Frames Cards
On the blank New Years ten frame cards, you can fill out the ten frame to match the number. You can use anything for this. You might use any new years theme. We love using unifix cubes.

New Years Ten Frames Cards as a Worksheet
If you are not reusing the cards, you can print them on a single page and use dot marker to fill out the page or covering the filled out ten frame.

New Years Ten Frames Cards For Addition
You can turn the blank New years ten Frames cards into addition activities. You gave them two colors of unifix cubes and have them cover the ten frame with the two colors. You can do this with the filled out or blank cards.

New Years Ten Frames Cards For Subtraction
If you are looking for a fun subtraction activity with the cards have them put more unifix cubes on the card than the number. Then have them take away the cubes until it matches the number. Then you can say like eight take away 3 is five. I often give them several sets of unifix cubes to do this with.
