Number Button Sensory Bin
Numbers are always fun to learn with. This number button sensory bin is a way to put two activities together. It is fun to look for the number and a great sensory activity as well. We just love using buttons at our house for hands-on activities. My youngest has been working on her numbers every day.

This is an activity that can be put together in a short amount of time. It took me less than 5 minutes to put it together. I keep a bag of buttons around just so we have something to play with any any point and time. We keep sensory bins around for a week or more so they have lots of time to do free play in the bin. They can create a lot of activities just on their own.
What you need: random buttons, Favorite Findings 3-1/2-Ounce Big Bag of Buttons, Numbers, cup, and 1 to 20 number playdough mat (can be found in the Coloring Section).

Mary got to look through the bin and play for a bit. This was to see what she would find in it. It also gave her a chance to run her hands through the different types of buttons. You have a lot of shapes in with the numbers.

She collected the same of one of the number buttons. I asked her what number she had. She would tell me the number. She repeated this a few times.

She was given the playdough mat for number 1. She started looking for number one buttons. She placed the number 1 buttons on the number 1 playdough mat.

Mary then counted out the number of buttons we needed and placed them on the current number playdough mat.

Mary repeated this same activity for 2 other numbers. She had lots of fun filling in the number with the number buttons and counting the round buttons for the playdough mat.

Here are some other number activities and printables:

What great ways to use buttons! We love to play with them at my house.
Loved it. Both my kids love having buttons / beads sensory bins but I never linked them with numbers before.
I love linking activities together. 🙂
Oh, I LOVE this! Combining sensory with fine motor…add in the line awareness of the number forms, learning numbers, colors…This is perfect!!
