Number Sensory Bin
We have been doing lots of number learning this last year. This Number Sensory Bin is a twist on the ABC Sensory Bin. The ABC bin was a favorite at our house for many months. We used it for many different projects around the house. This number sensory bin has been tons of fun for us to use.
This is a fun way to explore the bin. There are many different colors in the buttons and the tiles
. It gives them something different to look through and explore in the bin. This is also a fun way to learn colors as well. We read the book Chicka Chicka 1, 2, 3
before she played with this sensory bin.
What you need: bin, rice, number buttons and Sumoku
.

One of the first things she did was roll the die from the Sumoku game and use the color and the number. She would collect tiles that were the color and it would be whatever number needed on the die. So she would roll a yellow 4. She would collect 4 yellow buttons or tiles from the bin. She would then say the name of the numbers that she pulled out. This was a game she created all on her own.

She also had a lot of fun exploring the numbers and the different textures between the rice and the button and tiles. It was fun to see what numbers she would pull out. She always enjoys scoping and pouring with the sensory bins.

An additional activity we did was we used the numbers from the sensory bin to match up the numbers on our Romping & Roaring Number 1, 2, 3, 4 Review. This was a fun way to make a worksheet a hands on learning activity.

This was a great sensory bin for numbers. You had different numbers to look at in different shapes. It was also great for hands on learning. Counting is always fun!
