Paper roll painting is where you apply paint to a piece of paper using a paper roll. You can stamp the paper roll, roll the paper roll and more.

How we made the Paper Roll Painted Apple Tree Craft

You will see all the steps we used to make our paper roll painted apple tree.

Step 1: Paint the Trunk of the Apple Tree

You painting a trunk of the apple tree with watercolors on the watercolor paper. This allows us to make the trunk of the tree any way we want. We used a larger paint brush to make this easier to paint.

This can do a simple line for younger kids and older kids can do a more complex trunk of the apple tree.

Step 2: Paint the Branches of the Apple Tree

You can also have them paint a few branches at the top of the tree. These are small lines for the branches.

Step 3: Put Red and Green Paint on a Paper Plate

Next we put paint in a paper plate. You can do this in advance of the painting of the trunk as well. You can see we used red for the apples and green for the leaves on the tree.

We placed the paper roll in the tree paint and placed the cotton ball and clothespin by the red paint. And you are ready to paint the top of the tree!

Step 4: Paint the Green Leaves with a Paper Roll

We used the green paint of the paper roll to paint the top of the tree. You can see how we started of with simple stamps of the paper roll.

Kids might do lots of stamps of just a few stamps of the green. They might over lop the stamps or just do a few. And that is okay if that is all that kids do.

Step 5: Paint Apples with Cotton Balls and Clothespins

We use the cotton ball and paint to make the apples in the tree. You can see that we did several apples as we painted. The apples show up nicely in the tree we have painted.
