There are so many ways to work on multiplication. And I know that matching has always been a favorite activity for us.
Today I have a fun way to work on multiplication by 5s. It is a three-way matching activity with a worksheet that can be used to record what you find.

You can match the picture, the repeat addition and the equation with these printables. You can see an example of the cards below. I recommend printing these on cardstock and laminating them if you are going to use the many times.

Ways to use the Multiplication Matching Cards
There are many ways to use these cards. There is not just one way to use them. I want to show you some ways you could use it.
One of the ways we start is to match the picture and the repeat addition. This gives them a visual and addition that they know something about.
You can also use just the equations. It is a great way for them to see how the repeat addition matches up to the multiplication equation.
Another matching activity is the equation with the picture. This is a favorite for us. You can see everything and how it works together.

After you have done the matching then you can record what you matched. It is a great way to put the information you learned down another day. I know that some kids learn different ways and writing what they learned helps them remember better.
