Space and the planets are some of our favorite subjects to do during the summer. We are always working on some project of some kind. Well, we could do space almost all year and be happy! It is such a fun theme to study that just evolves as kids get older.
I wanted to add a fun, easy reader for the planets. There are many ways to study the plants, but planet order has to be my favorite.

Easy reader books are an easy way to great way to get learning tools into small hands. They can re-read them and call the book their own.
Order of the Planets Easy Reader Book Printable
The book has the main 8 planets. No, Pluto though I do love to add Pluto in every now and then. You are going to find the sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
You have the planet order done with ordinal numbers: first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth.

The planet easy reader book starts off with the sun and you go from the planet to planet in order for each page. Each planet tells you where is it using ordinal numbers: first, second etc.

How to Make the Order of the Planets Easy Reader Books
I always get asked how I make the easy reader books. Here are the simple steps that I use to make the books. I use scissors and a stapler.
Cut Down the Center of the Order of the Planets Easy Reader Book
You start by lining up the pages and cutting down the middle of the book. You want to make sure you hold the pages steady while you cut.
Alternate the Pages of the Order of the Planets Easy Reader Book
You alternate the pages of the book. The odd pages are on the top and the even pages on the bottom. You have even and then odd until all the pages are sorted.
Staple the Left side of the Easy Reader Book
After you make sure all the pages of the book are lined up, staple the book on the left side. Then your easy reader book is ready to be used.
Now your planet easy reader book is ready to use.

For each page in the book, we colored the planet and then we underlined the planet order. You can talk about the number for the planet for each planet.

If you want a hands-on activity to go with this, there is a matching game using ordinal numbers for the planets in the Planet Learning Pack and the planet bookmarks with the easy reader book.
You can read the book and then match the planets and number order. A great way to work on the ordinal numbers and planet names withkids.
Another fun ideas would be to make paper plate planets craft with kids.

You can use models of the planets with the book. This is a great way for kids to have an item to match with the book.
Kids do great with hands-on learning love adding a hands-on items with the book.
