Prehistoric Sea Life Water Bead Sensory Bin
‘m always looking for new sensory bins that I can do with my girls. It means being creative sometimes. My girls wanted to do another Shark Water Bead Sensory Bin and I thought it would be fun to change it up a bit. We did some Prehistoric Sea Life instead.
My girls love learning about the dinosaur time and what is more fun that sea life from that time. They had so much variety and loads of different sharks than we have now. See all the fun we had with this twist on a favorite water bead sensory bin.
We have loved the dinosaurs for a long time and have done lots of fun activities with them. We read the book Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure. It went great with this sensory bin. Plus it was fun to read over the different names from the book and see how many were in the sensory bin we had.
What you need for this sensory bin:
- Safari Ltd Prehistoric Sea Life TOOB
- Safari Ltd Prehistoric Sharks TOOB
- blue water beads
- black water beads

They all dove right into the sensory bin. Each of them loved the different sharks and prehistoric ocean animals. They each picked out different features of the animals and how different some of them were from current ocean animals.

And yes all three played in the bin at the same time. These are great small world play. We talked about how we think they might have swam or what they ate. If they all lived in different areas. Which of the three time periods they lived in.

They would each pick out a few they liked and tell me about what they find different about them.

I changed up the beads for this bin. Normally we do a blue and white. This time, I did blue and black. It gave the bin a different fill and was fun to think that the water beads were a different time. It also hid some of the sea life better under the water.

I don’t have pictures but we did some writing activities with this bin. Each took an animal and wrote about what they thought how these animals were back then. They also picked out what they might like to eat. It was fun to have those ideas written down. I tmade for a great extension for the bin for my older two.
