Cookie cutter painting is where you use a cookie cutter and paint inside the cookie cutter or use the cookie cutter to stamp paints on the page.

You are going to see the steps below we used to make the shell cookie cutter painting. And this is super fun to do!
Place Cookie Cutter on Paper
You place the shell on the watercolor paper. You want to hold on the sides or the top of the shell cookie cutter.
We use watercolor paper because it holds up a lot better than other paper.
Paint Inside the Shell Cookie Cutter
As you paint inside the shell cookie cutter, you want to make sure you hold the cookie cutter as much as possible. It might be easier to do this from the top for some kids or the side for others.
You want to fill in the whole shape of the cookie cutter. We have found that larger paint brushes help make the painting go faster.
Pick up the Shell Cookie Cutter
After you have finished painting inside the shell, lift it up and see the shell you painted.
For younger kids, they can just leave it as it is.
For older kids, you can tell them about filling in areas you missed or adding more details.
Repeat the Steps Above
Once you have the shell painted, move on to the next shell. This is fun to see the colors and directions they paint the shells. This is their art project, and let them paint it the way they want!
