Easy To Use Raindrop Ten Frame Addition
Spring is always fun and there are so many different themes. I love that rain is one of the themes of spring.
I like when I can mix in some hands-on learning for each season. I have a fun new set of addition task cards and worksheet. It is a free raindrop themed ten frame set. A fun way to work on adding this spring.
This is a fun set that can be done with or without the worksheet. The cards are made so you can do them alone. Plus is a great addition to the spring printables on the site.
I love that this type of mat is a great build up from the ten frame counting mats.
There are two types of cards: one with the ten frames partially filled out and the second set is all blank for kids to fill out. You can start with one set of cards and work to the next one. I recommend laminating the cards to help them last longer. There are 12 cards in total. The cards have numbers 1 to 12 in the corner.

There is a recording sheet to use with the cards. It has space to color in the ten frame and write in the equation for all 12 cards.

How we use these printables
I love that you can use hands-on items with the cards. We use the unifix cubes a lot but glass gems
or other items work just as well. With the first card, you just have to fill in the second equation.

The second card you fill in the equation for both parts. I use two different colors of unifix cubes for this.

If you plan on using the card over and over I recommend laminating the cards. This helps them last longer. Plus then you can use dry erase markers
on the cards to fill in parts of the equations or write the answer of the equation.

If you are just using the cards one time you can always mix it up and use dot markers! I picked two colors and they filled in the equation.

Now if you want to use the worksheet you can always have kids do the cards and worksheet together. Or they do cards first and then worksheet. I like to do the worksheet and cards at the same time. I put the cards in a pile. Each card they flip over they fill in the ten frame and write the equation.
