Tissue Paper Spring Blossoms Craft For Kids

One of my favorite parts about spring is the blossoms on the trees. The blossoms are just about to come out here. I appreciate the variety of blossoms you can see.

Spring crafts are some of my favorite to do. I love that there are so many colors to use. We did what I think was my favorite spring blossom painting.

Today’s tissue paper craft is a slight twist on that spring painting. We employed some of the same painting techniques, but added a slight twist with the spring tissue paper craft.

It’s also a fun spring craft for kids.

The Tissue Paper Spring Blossoms is a great way to work on a mixed art project with kids. You have to paint and then use tissue paper to make the blossoms on the tree. It is a great way to work on fine motor while doing the spring tree craft.

The tissue paper spring blossom craft is also a great cherry blossom tissue paper craft.

The tissue paper spring blossom craft is a great craft for preschool (ages 3 to 4), prek (ages 4 to 5) and kindergarten (ages 5 to 6). You could also do it with other elementary age kids.

How We Made the Tissue Paper Spring Blossoms Craft

You can see the steps below to make the Tissue Paper Spring Blossom Craft.

Step 1: Paint the Branches of the Spring Tree

You use a foam brush to make the branches of the tree. We used the tip and side of the brush for this. You want to start on the side of the paper. You can do the right or left side. It does not matter.

Step 2: Add More Branches To the Tree

After you have the main part of the tree branch made. You can add various sizes of branches off the tree. And you can be as creative as you want with this. It is fun to see the different twists and turns of the branches.

Step 3: Let the Branches Dry

During the next part the branches of the free might need to dry a little bit. You can set the painting aside and let it dry.

Step 4: Cutting the Tissue Paper

If you are letting the branches dry you can give kids strips of pink tissue paper that they can cut up to use on the tree. Cutting is a great fine motor activity for kids that as lightly older.

You might want to cut the tissue paper in advance for younger kids.

Step 5: Put Glue Along the Branches

You can put dots of glue along the branches of the tree. Or you can do one glue spot at a time. We have found that more glue spots are easier to do.

Step 6: Crinkle Tissues Paper for the Blossoms

You take a piece or two of tissue paper and crinkle it smaller and place on the glue dots on the tree. You can use just one color of pink or different colors of pink for this.

The pink makes it look like a cherry blossom tissue paper art craft.

Step 7: Keep Repeating the Glue and Tissues Paper

You want to keep doing the tissue paper and glue until you have finished your tree. And remember this is another having fun. And there is not set amount of tissues paper that has to go on. they can put three pieces on and call it done.

You could also make this a fun full spring tree with blossoms.
