Word ladders are one of my favorite ways for kids to learn. You get to build the word and have a fun time doing it.
My youngest loves when we have these word ladders to build and make words with. They provide a great hands-on learning for vowel team words

What is a Vowel Team?
Vowel teams are two vowels that work to make one sound. This is also called a vowel digraph since both vowels make the same sound.
Some vowel team words are words like rain, mail, fruit, and seed.
The common vowel teams are: ai, ay, ea, ee, ie, oa, oe, ue, and ui.
Now, these are some of the most common vowel teams that work together to make one sound.
Vowel Team Ladders Printables
The Vowel Team Ladders give you the two vowels together and let you make the vowel team words
You can always print and use what you need with these ladders. It makes it easy to set up a center when you know the vowel teams you are going to be learning.
Each page has two vowel team word ladders on them. You have five lines of the letters to work on building beginning and ending words.
These are great for kids in second grade (ages 7 to 8) and third grade (ages 8 to 9) who are learning vowel time words.

Setting up a Vowel Team Learning Center
You can give kids the vowel team wall cards, lacing letters and the vowel team they are working on or reviewing.
The wall cards provide them with examples of words that they could build. I give them just one of the cards at a time.

Making Vowel Team Words
Once they get going on using the vowel team ladders, they have tons of fun building the vowel team words.
