Washi Tape Truffula Tree Craft

A fun truffula tree craft that is made with paper, craft sticks, and washi tape. It is an easy craft to set up and make with kids. You can do this with the leftover washi tape that you have.

How we made the Washi Tape Truffula Tree Craft

You can see below all the steps we used to make the washi tape truffula tree craft.

Step 1: Put Glue on the Green Paper

You take the green paper that is torn in half. You are going to put the glue on one side of the paper. You can see we did a a zig zag on the paper with the glue.

Step 2: Glue on the Green paper to the Blue

Next we place the glue on the blue paper. We used the flat side of the green paper to line up with the blue paper. Then we placed the paper aside to have the glue dry a little bit.

Step 3: Draw Lines on the Craft Stick

Then we started to draw brown lines on the craft sticks. You can do big lines or small lines.

Step 4: Glue on the Craft Sticks

You put the glue on the craft sticks. You can do one single line of glue on each of the craft sticks. You want to do it on the side that does not have the brown lines.

Putting the glue on the stick is a great fine motor skill for kids.

After the glue is on the sticks you can place it on the paper. You can place them anywhere you want.

Step 5: Tear of Pieces of Washi Tape

You are going to have kids pull off washi tape and tear the tape. They are then going to place the tape on the top of the craft stick. They can put the take around the top of the craft stick. They can do small pieces or big pieces.
Kids can place them however they want around the torp of the craft stick.

Step 6: Start Another Tree

After you finish with one tree you can use another color and make the top of another truffula tree.

Some things to know about washi tape it might curl up after you do the craft. That is okay. It makes the trees stand out more. But if kids press the tape hard enough it will stay a lot more flat on the top of the tree.
