Place the Cookie Cutter on the Paper
You start by placing the heart cookie cutters on watercolor paper. You can place it anywhere you want.
We use watercolor paper because it holds up better when you use lots of water on the paper.
Paint Inside the Cookie Cutter
You put watercolor paint on the paintbrush. Then you hold the heart cookie cutters
in place and then paint inside the cookie cutter.
This is a great fine motor activity for painting and holding the cookie cutter simultaneously. We have done this with several different ages at the same time.
Look at the Watercolor Painting Heart
After you have finish painting, you lift off the cookie cutter and see the heart on the paper.
Clean the Heart Cookie Cutter
You might want to clean the heart cookie cutter between paintings. You don’t have but it makes each of the colors look more unique.

Thne keep going. You can paint as many hearts as you want. You can use all three sizes of just use one size. But it makes a fun painting activity that kids can do for Valentine’s.
