Hands-On Learning With Zoo Skip Counting By 3 Puzzles – Free
Puzzles have to be our favorite learning tool at our house. We are always using them in some way! Plus I always get requests for more puzzles and more variety of numbers.
Since it is summer I wanted to do a summer theme for it. And what is more, fun that zoo for that? Zoo animals are always fun to learn with. Today I have some free skip counting by 3 zoo themed puzzles.

The Zoo Skip Counting By 3 Puzzles are a great addition to the zoo printables and skip counting printables on the site.
What is Skip Counting?
Skip counting is working on adding the same number over and over. You have a pattern of adding or counting.
So if you skip counting by 3s, you have a pattern like, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and so forth. These patterns can be repeated for many numbers.
Zoo Skip Counting By 3 Puzzles
Each puzzle is a great way for Kindergarten, first-grade and even second-grade kids to work on their skip counting.
Each of the puzzles is skip counting by 3. The first skip counting puzzle goes from 3 to 30, the second skip counting puzzle has 33 to 60, and the last skip counting puzzle have 63 to 90.
You can use all the puzzles at the same time or mix them up. That is what makes puzzles fun! Plus they are great for hands-on learners.

How to Prepare the Skip Counting Puzzles
I laminate each of the puzzles and then cut them up. There are ten pieces in each puzzle. There is also a blank puzzle page that you can use as a place to build your puzzles. I put some putty
I also have close by the skip counting by 3 bookmarks. These are only available in my stores. They go from 3 to 144. You can flip through the bookmarks and see the numbers go up by 3.
How to Use the Zoo Counting by 3 Puzzles
The first time through we just might see how much of the numbers they can do on their own. I have the skip counting bookmarks close by if they need extra help.
They press the puzzles onto the blank puzzle the putty keeps the puzzle pieces in place. After they finish the puzzle, they read the numbers on the bottom or side. You can use the bookmarks to see if they did it correctly. Or use them just to see what number comes next if they are doing a new puzzle.
My youngest loves to put the puzzles and learning with them right now.
Another fun thing I will do it is mix up the puzzles and leave it for her to fix. She loves this and it is simple and easy to set up. I like this because it gives them a chance to pull the pieces off the board and push them back on again in the right order.
